The National Anti-Racism Strategy was launched on 24 August 2012 and will be implemented between 2012 and 2015.

About the Strategy

In its 2011 multicultural policy, The People of Australia the Australian Government committed to develop and implement a National Anti-Racism Strategy. The Strategy will be implemented between 2012 and 2015.

The Strategy has been developed through a partnership led by the Race Discrimination Commissioner Dr Helen Szoke.

The partnership includes the Department of Immigration and Citizenship; the Department of Families, Housing, Community Services and Indigenous Affairs; the Attorney-General’s Department; the Australian Multicultural Council; the National Congress of Australia’s First Peoples and the Federation of Ethnic Communities’ Councils of Australia.

The development of the Strategy was informed by a broad consultation process.
